Thursday Night Tasting -  Columbia Valley.
 

When we think about Washington wine there is a tendency to think Walla Walla - and to overlook the importance of AVAs such as Columbia Valley. This week Dr. Binx sets the record straight. The large Columbia Valley AVA was established in 1984 and includes smaller wine producing areas such as Horse Heaven Hills, Rattlesnake Hills, Red Mountain, Snipes Mountain and Wahluke Slope AVAs where the climate and soil helps produce outstanding wines such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Riesling, Syrah, Pinot Gris, and Sauvignon Blanc. Not to be overlooked. Thursday Feb 16th, 6.30pm. $15

Dowdell Buhler. Friday Feb 17th, 7.30pm. $3
In just a few months Linda Dowdell and Craig Buhler have become the must-see jazz duo on the Peninsula. Linda has worked as a composer, arranger and band member in a rich variety of genres and has a deep love for the work of Thelonious Monk and Duke Ellington, while Craig is a much sought after musician with a vast library of studio recordings and an alarmingly encyclopedic knowledge of rarely performed classic American jazz standards. Together they make for a wonderful night of classic jazz. 7.30pm, $3 cover

 

Michael Stephen Rivers & Larry Murante. Saturday  Feb 18th, 7.00pm. $5.
 
A warm welcome back to this wonderful duo. Port Angeles based Michael Stephen Rivers was a scholarship student at the legendary Berklee College of Music and the skills he developed there have built a career as a noted singer and songwriter with numerous CD releases to his name. Larry Murante is a Seattle based award winning singer-songwriter and recording artist with three highly acclaimed CD releases, including the outstanding Point of Entry from 2009. When these two talents get together it always means a packed house, so make sure to arrive in good time for the 7pm start. $5 cover.
